ABOUT
Grateful for the journey...
Tony Vieira was born in small town and rural southern Illinois not all that far from Lincoln's New Salem and Springfield. He spent lots of years doing what country kids do. And playing basketball as Illinois kids do. And then off to college, law school, and then off to the Navy. He became a U.S. Navy Judge Advocate beginning 1990. His permanent duty stations included NTC Newport, RI, NLSO Treasure Island, and NAS Moffett Field. He was a defense lawyer, a prosecutor, and was the Officer-In-Charge at the Moffett NLSO detachment. He tried cases ashore and at sea. He was honorably discharged in 1994. These were four beautiful years. Next he worked with the Los Angeles County District Attorney where he was assigned to the Lyle and Erik Menendez case retrial beginning in 1994. He tried misdemeanor cases in the Glendale and Pasadena, California courts from 1995 thru 1996. In 1997 he started work with the DA’s Hardcore Gang Unit where he tried mostly murder cases. These were five beautiful years. From 2000 to 2003 he worked as a civil trial lawyer in the San Francisco area on cases involving asbestos, tobacco, and other toxic tort type injuries. In 2003 he returned to Southern California to live and where he continued trying many different types of civil and criminal trials...and in many different jurisdictions. He’s also argued extensively in courts of appeal. His work has been in both State and Federal court. And it has been the best of times.
He has been a resident of California for the last 30 years.
In terms of formal education Mr. Vieira has a J.D. from DePaul University; and is pursuing an MA in Classics/Great Books from Memoria College; an MA in Philosophy from Talbot Seminary; and an MA in International Affairs from Regent University. He won't be leaving anything on the table. And neither should you.
Vieira continues the trial of civil and criminal cases up to the current time. He believes the law is a high and noble calling — and that trained, impassioned, and creative lawyers have exceptional power to change society and culture for the better. And he likes to think and talk about how to do that. Thats what this site is all about.
